Canada has its share of water pollution problems, which have resulted from the conservation complexities of dealing with a complex system of interlocking waterways as well as the fact that the country is home to a number of businesses and industries that are highly polluting. It is also unfortunately the case that the nature of both national and provincial politics in the past has ensured that many businesses were not regulated as well as they would be by a government that was purely concerned with the health and welfare of its citizens
